RESOURCE CENTRE

We provide information, referrals and assistance to individuals and their families at the office section of Engadine Community Centre with the help of local volunteers and funding from Sutherland Shire Council and NSW Department of Communities & Justice (DCJ), including:

  • INFORMATION, ADVICE & REFERRALS FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES - Our Building Communities Coordinator works weekdays only [Mon-Thurs], but please make an appointment, if you can, to discuss complex issues. Information about Toy Library, playgroups and all other local services are available anytime the centre is open.

  • PHOTOCOPYING & EMAIL SERVICE - Our volunteers assist anytime with document production in colour/black & white copies, binding, laminating and email, for a small fee.

  • DIABETES SHARPS DISPOSAL SERVICE - ECS provides a free sharps disposal service for insulin dependent persons. Sharps include finger prickers or blood glucose lancets, syringes, pen needles and needles used to insert insulin pump tubing. Your used sharps must be disposed of in a strong puncture proof container, or a strong plastic container or bottle which has a secure lid.

  • JP SERVICE - Documents can be signed by a Justice of the Peace service on Thursdays [10:00am - 1:00pm] and 2nd and 4th Saturdays [10:00am - 12:00pm]. Appointments are necessary on 9520 7022 the day before.

  • COMPUTERS FOR SENIORS - Bring your own device for individual lessons on Monday mornings [45 min each in 4wk blocks] for a small fee. Appointments are essential on 9520 7022.

  • INFORMATION ABOUT AGED CARE - Our Aged Services Coordinator works part-time, so it's best to make an appointment to discuss complex issues or ECS services. Contacts for all other local services are available anytime the centre is open, plus our centre coordinator can answer questions about your aged care options on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month [9:00am - 12:00pm].

  • ENQUIRIES ABOUT VOLUNTEERING AT ECS - Someone can assist at most times, but appointments may be necessary when the centre is busy. The centre is also open on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month [9:00am - 12:00pm] for those who can't visit during the week.

  • ECS Community Library - Love to read and watch great films? ECS Community Library is a free library of DVDs and books available to all our ECS visitors whenever ECS is open. Donate books and/or DVDs in exchange for taking books and DVDs from our shelves.
